Banafsheh Pourzangi was born in Iran, where she completed most of her education. She later moved to France, earning a degree in Comparative Literature. After living in several countries, she is now based in Los Angeles. Though she has traveled extensively, she remains deeply connected to her homeland, Iran, which continues to be a source of inspiration.
Currently, Banafsheh is a lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she teaches language and culture.
